advanced photo editing

When I took headshots of the faculty and staff of a higher-ed client, the dean’s assistant was wearing transitions-style glasses. There was nothing we could do but hope to work it out in post-production. Luckily, the light was soft that day and the lenses didn’t darken all the way. I was able to go into Photoshop and work some magic — it’s a multi-step process and it’s important to use a light touch (no  pun intended), but with the right know-how a Photoshop pro can fix all kinds of trouble spots.

For the record, unless I’m working on an entirely artistic piece, my approach to Photoshopping people is minimal. Enhance natural features, maybe lighten up some under-eye circles or fix the folds of a shirt hanging the wrong way. I don’t play plastic surgeon or weight loss specialist! I can, but I don’t like to.
